DeKalb County District Attorney[1] Gwen Keyes Flemming was sworn into office December 2004 and since then she has made it her mission, and the mission of the [2] Dekalb County District Attorney's office, to provide protection, prevention and peace of mind to the citizens of the County.

The District Attorney office is responsible for prosecuting all felony crimes committed in DeKalb County, Georgia. The Types of crimes handled by the DAs office include: Murder, Sexual Assault, [3] Armed Robery, Property crime, and Fraud. However, the role of the District Attorney is not simply to obtain convictions. It is to ensure that justice is served which can sometimes mean dismissing cases where there is insufficient evidence to proceed.
